Army Of 500,000 Assured By Giraud THREAT AGAINST TRAITORS Rec. 1.30 p.m. LONDON, May 6. "The French liberation army of. 500,000 will be completely equipped by the end of the year," said General Giraud in a statement issued in Algiers. He added: "There will be an expeditionary corps of 300,000 and a reserve of 200,000 in Africa. Roughly half of this half-million saw service in France in 1939 and 1940. Most of the officers have arrived from France since November 8. "The outlook is most favourable for the union of all the Fighting French. We shall soon be in Tunis, where the situation is most troubled. Many Frenchmen who collaborated with the Germans are already fleeing by air. I shall know what to do with the traitors who remain."
