LOSS OF RIGHT HAND

(0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Advice that their son, LanceCorporal Francis Joseph Jenyns, had suffered a shell wound necessitating a traumatic amputation of the right hand, has been received .by Mr. and Mrs. F. Jenvns, of Whangarei. Recentlv he was a member of a New Zealand eleven whicn met a team captained by Squadron-Leader "Wally" Hammond. Leaving New Zealand with the Second Echelon, he celebrated his 19th birthday in England, his 20th in Greece and his 21st in Cairo. With his father, Gunner Frank Jenvns, who has since been invalided home to New Zealand, Peter was wounded in three of the four campaigns in which he-previously participated.
