SCHOOL AMENITIES
CRITICISM AT MANUKAU The lack of equipment at the newly-opened Manukau Intermediate School was commented upon by Mr. C. H. Grainger, chairman of the provisional school committee, at a meeting of parents last night. He stated that about £2000 would have to be found to provide full equipment. There was no assembly hall, and fewer rooms had been provided than had been planned. The two shelter sheds were inadequate for the roll of over 460 pupils. The following were elected to the school committee: Mesdames H. E. Crooks, J. S. Melville, L. E. Titheridge, L. M. Waldron and Mr. Chambers. These are in addition to Messrs. Grainger (chairman), Pace, V. Potter and G. H. Christie, representing the Onehunga, Te Papapa, Royal Oak and Mount Roskill primary schools.
