SPLITZKRIEG REVUE

The modern version of the old-time popular Digger show was presented at His Majesty's Theatre last evening by the Remedial Training Camp Concert Party under the title of "Splitzkrieg Revue." Bright and breezy humour, novel turns and excellent vocal and musical numbers were features of a production which did not have a dull moment in it from the rise of curtain to the fall. It was an interesting revelation of the latent talent in a body of men brought together in a training camp. Although an all-male cast, the company was not incapable of depicting feminine grace and charm, and the Blue Baths Ballet by a "bevy of beauties" delighted the audience. Other concerted numbers were "The Provosts."

"In Bivouac," and a display of rifle drill to music which was one of the most popular items. Ray Opie, tenor, and Jim Hoskins, baritone, were well received in solo numbers, Jack Pizzey and Stan Longworth scored many laughs with their topical allusions, while Billy Constant, as the principal comedian, was received with enthusiasm. The show will be repeated this evening and on Monday night. A performance for servicemen will be given to-morrow night, beginning at 7.30.
