HITLER'S PICTURE

Mystery Of His Whereabouts Intensifies

HANDSHAKING INCIDENT (Rec. 2 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 3. The latest picture of Hitler to reach the United States intensifies the mystery of his whereabouts. The New York Daily Mirror, which publishes the picture, says Hitler's uniform is of the type worn several years ago. According to its German caption, the picture shows Hitler shaking hands with "Jose Louis Arrese, Spanish Cabinet Member and Secretary of the Falange." After stressing Spanish-German amity, the caption adds, "Germany resents the news that Spain is drawing closer to the Allies." The Mirror says that official and unofficial Spanish sources in the United States have never heard either of Arrese or the hand-shaking incident.
