BORING AT CLARENDON (0.C.) . . , DUNEDIN, Friday. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Barclay, paid a visit of inspection this afternoon to the site of the phosphate deposits at Clarendon. In an interview to-night he said that the Mines Department was. at present engaged with varying results-in boring operations on the big hill which was the site of low content deposits. Development and boring operations were also carried out on.the old site, which had previously, been worked by the Ewing Phosphate Company and was how being prospected by the British Phosphate Commission, r. > "■.■", The Minister said no large development works would be started-until boring operations were far enough advanced to enable the authorities to be sure of their ground.
