LONDON. Digestive troubles among war workers on night shifts were "discussed by the Industrial Welfare Society at Nottingham. Dr. Emily Badenoch said: "It does not seem to be the diet so much as the upset of the ordinary diet hours." Night work was proving a frequent cause of gastritis and gastric ulcers. The average stomach was not prepared to work 100 per cent at night. Night workers should keep off pickles, pastry or heavy steamed puddings.
