AIR RAID SHELTERS

READY IN FEW DAYS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day.

A series of specifications for the construction of air raid shelters has been drawn up by the New Zealand Standards Institute, under the authority of 1 the National Service Department. These will be available to E.P.S. authorities within a few days, and private persons may obtain "them from the Standards Institute, with which orders may be placed at once.

They describe the minimum safe construction considered to be adequate for both overhead and lateral protection against splinters, small incendiary bombs and similar missiles, also minimum protection against overhead blast.
