KILLED IN ACTION
HAMILTON AIR HERO (0.C.) HAMILTON, Sunday. Advice has been received by Mrs. O. P. Duncan, of Te Rapa, Hamilton, that her nephew, Flight-Sergeant H. F. Rochford, D.F.M., has been killed in action. A cablegram from London on October 23 stated that Flight-Sergeant Rochford had been awarded the D.P.M., having set a fine example as an observer through many operational sorties. Educated at the Hamilton High School, Flight-Sergeant Rochford, who was 24, was prominent as a footballer and a boxer. He left New Zealand in September, 1940, and was posted to a bomber command.
