ARMY SISTERS

GARDEN FETE HELD In aid of the sick sisters' fund and the general purposes fund, a successful garden fete was held by members of the Returned Army Nursing Sisters' Association at the Evelyn Firth Home, St. Stephen's Avenue, Parnell, on Saturday afternoon, The nurses who had served in the Great War were ambassadors for New Zealand, said the Mayoress, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, declaring the fete open. They were held in high esteem for their courage and endurance. Mrs. Allum was introduced by Mrs. P. J. North, president of the association.

The afternoon proved highly successful, excellent business being done at the various stalls, which were arranged on the verandahs. Dancing on the lawn by pupils of Miss Beresford and bright band selections added to the enjoyment of the large crowd present.
