SHIPMASTER DEAD
(P A.) DUNEDIN, this day. The death has occurred of Captain Alexander Innis Murray, at the age of 82. He was a well-known master in New Zealand waters and was chief officer of the sailing ship Dunedin, which carried the first consignment of frozen meat to England. His first command was in IS9O, when he was appointed to the Akaroa, a four-masted barque of 1000 tons.
Engineers from all parts of the Waikato visited the Karapiro hvdroelectric works yesterday. They 'were given a civic reception in Hamilton by the Mayor. Mr. H. D. Caro. who stressed the value of the work in which they were engaged.
