UNITED FRONT MOVE
THREE SLAVONIC GROUPS At a well-attended meeting of Czechoslovak residents of Auckland this week a Czechoslovak Association was established. The meeting was presided over by Mr. R. M. Algie, Constil for Czechoslovakia. The executive was charged with the task of promoting co-operation between the Slavs, resident in New Zealand, including the Poles and the Yugoslavs. Following the example of the Polish and Czechoslovak Allied Governments in London the Czechoslovaks and the Poles resident in New Zealand are unanimous that cooperation is vital to their interests, reads a statement issued by the association. An overwhelming feeling prevails among the Yugoslav community for a united front of all three Slavonic peoples in their struggle against their common enemy. The Czechoslovak Association's members pledged their unswerving loyalty to the Dominion which is their country of adoption, adds the statement. They are all solidlv behind Dr. Benes, president of the Czechoslovak Government in London. The association's other objects are social, cultural and charitable activities. Mr. Algie accepted the honorary presidency, and Mr. B. Tospisil. Czech editor and author, was elected president.
