Legless Pilot

Rec. 5 p.m. LONDON*. August 15. The Luftwaffe has sent a message to the R.A.F. through the Red Cross qffering to allow a Britisher to fly across the Channel with a new metal leg for Wing-Commander D. R. S. Bader. the British legless pilot, who has been taken prisoner, says the Daily Express. There are several spare legs belonging to Wing-Commander Bader, at an air station in South England from which he led his wing of fighters. The offer has been accepted and the leg wi'.l probably be dropped by parachute over German-occupied territory. There is considerable competition at Bader's station for the job of delivering the leg.
