At the fortnightly meeting of the cen-, tral branch of the Democratic Labour I partv a number of resolutions were carried ; and "copies forwarded to the Ministers con : • cerned. The Speaker of House 01 Representatives, the Hon. W. E. Barnaul, was congratulated on hie 6tand regarding aid to Soviet Russia. It was decided that the Minister of Justice and the Minis*er of Defence be written to regarding the sentencing of a conscientious objector, Browiu'igg. to six months' hard labour. It was al«o decided that legislation abolwhinz capital punishment and florins oc requested. '
