HARBOUR BOARD FINANCE

In a report on the finances for the half year ended March 31, the treasurer, Mr. C. F. Garratt. at a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday afternoon, said that the assets were £6.174,164 The liabilities were £2,760,153. leaving a surplus of £3,414,011. During the period, the revenue for Waitemata Harbour was £229.913, and the expenditure was £230.675. The ilevenue for Manukau Harbour for the same period was £2934, and the expenditure £5102. The expenditure on loan works for the export wharf was £3/,967, a lower amount than the forecast, owing to difficulty in getting materials. The chairman, Mr. H. Luke, said that the position was extremely satisfactory. The report was adopted.
