DEBATE WANTED

GREECE AND CRETE QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Discussion on the actions of Greece and Crete was requested in an urgent question asked in the House of Representatives this afternoon by Mr. Lee (Democratic Labour, Grey Lynn) on behalf of Mr. Speaker. He asked the acting-Prime Minister whether he would arrange for a discussion this week in the open House of the ventures in Greece and Crete.

'Yesterday these campaigns and the question of the burden borne by the Dominion troops in them were openly debated in the House of Commons," he said, "and some of the details of discussion have been broadcast to the world."

In reply, Mr. Nash stated: "The proposed order of business during the present session has alreadv been announced. Members on both sides of the House are aware that the Imprest Supply Bill will be introduced to-morrow, under which the fullest discussion under the standing <prders of the House is allowed, sub•ir Ct to the conlr °l already granted Mr. Speaker, but statements which may be advantageous to the enemv must not be broadcast. Subject to the elimination of references that may be harmful to the Dominion and dangerous to the war effort bv helping enemy Powers, I would welcome the fullest debate on the work of the £ew Zealand troops in Greece and Crete.
