RAISING OF £500,000.

SICK AND WOUNDED FUND.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In lees than seven weeks the National Sick and Wounded Fund reached more than £500,000, an average collection of over £10,000 daily. Mr. J. Abel, Dominion organiser, said to-day that, since setting out to raise £250,000, the energy of committees and the generosity of the public had been remarkable. The original quota had been secured in a short time. The attainment of £500,000 was a note.worthy effort in the patriotic campaigns of Xew Zealand and never had it been surpassed even in the last war when patriotic fervour was at ite height.
