YOUNG FADDON WINS SPRINT.

Some good dividends were returned at Te Rapa on Saturday, when the Waikato Racing Clmb held a meeting in aid of the paftiotic fund, the best being that of Rarolonga, who won the Hack Hurdles and paid over a. quarter of a century. Xuipapa, who accounted for the concluding event, the Farewell Handicap, easi-y, and Flying Acre, who won the chief event, the Southern Queen Handicap, paid doubles figuTee. Flying Acre wae ridden by L W. Ford, a 15-year-old apprentice m J. W. Cathro's etable at? Ma.tamata, where Flying A&e is trained. Thie wae only hie second rid<?, and hie first success. The Hamilton Handicap, t-he open eprint, was won iby Young Paldon, who, after being handy to Te Monowai and Te Takina throughout, finished on too solidly for Te Monowai, with Te Takina a moderate third. The weather was fine and there wae a good attendance, while the track provided good winter going. During the day the euni of £28,619 wae .put through the machine.
