PETROL SUPPLIES.
m Z • Mlmster of Supply says that motorists must conserve petrol supplies. Perhaps the Minister would explain why in the present crisis there should be so many big re, thousands, at race meetings, and as I go daily to work I pass two golf clubs with between 30 and a 0 big cars parked inside. This is going- on all over the country, and these people seem to have no diffieultv in obtaining petrol, yet tradesmen- going to and from urgent defence work, not served by rail or road, find it practicallv impossible to get petroL Surely a man on such a class of work should have no obstacle put in his way of helping the defence of the country. Most of the city cars run to and from the citv over a route covered both by tram, rail and bus. Surely the authorities know by now that it is useless to appeal to this class of road user, but the poor old tradesman, being a worker-well, he just does not count. Petrol supplies should be reserved only for those carrying a full load and to o,- from essential work. WAKE UP.
