MIKISTER TO INVESTIGATE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WAIHI, this day. Advice has been received bv the Mayor, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, from Mr J. Thorn, M.P., that he has discussed the question of the housing problem in \\ailii with the Minister-of Housing. the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, and that the Minister had agreed that on the next occasion he visits Auckland he will come to Wailii and look into the problem on the spot.
Heretofore security of tenure has proved a Mumbling block to the introduction of a State housing scheme in Waibi. Departmental ollicers have al.-.o taken exception to the prices asked f.ir suitable building sites in the borough.
