AVONDALE RACES.

MEETING OPENS MONDAY. ACCEPTORS PUBLISHED TO-DAY. Owing to the death of the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. M. J. Savage) the committee of the Avondale Jockey Club decided this afternoon that, in respect of his memory, and at the request of the New Zealand Racing Conference, the opening of its autumn meeting should be postponed from Saturday next until the following Monday. Acceptances will be taken for events on the first day at 5 p.m. this evening, and they will be published in the "Auckland Star" shortly after that time.
