.IARINERO COLT 1000 GUINEAS

SYDNEY YEARLING SALES

SYDNEY, March 26. Spirited bidding marked the opening of the yearling sales to-day, top price of 1000 guineas being paid by the Rand wick trainer J. King for the Harinero colt from lruest submitted on behalf of Sir Hugh Denwon. This colt is a brother to Trueneas and Marengo, who were engaged at the recent Randwick meeting. The next best price of 950 guineas was paid for a bay colt by Picadilly from Jtowulka, t*e buyer being the part-owner of Ajax, "Mr. Constable." Fourteen colts by Picadilly made 6000 guineas.

Eight of the nine colts by the imported aire J. R. Smith made 1695 guineas. The chestnut filly by Picadilly from the New Zealand mare Society was bought by J. Holt, Melbourne.
