APPOINTMENTS.
AUOKLAKS XmiVBKBITT Appointments of part-time and relieving lecturers and assistants in various departments were made at yesterday's meeting of the Auckland University College Council. Mr. E. J. Searle, at present demonstrator in geology, was appointed to take charge of the geology department during Professor J. A. Bartrum's sabbatical leave in America during the first term of the present year. Mr. J. F. NewhoCk was appointed demonstrator during this period. During Professor J. Rutherford's term as chairman of the professorial board Mr. T. J. Lanigan, M.A., was appointed assistant lecturer in the history department. Mr. A. P. Young was appointed temporarily as lecturer in book-keeping, replacing Mr. R. M. Kay, now attached to the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Student correctors appointed in the accountancy department were Messrs. P. R. Fenton, A, P. Young, W. G. Anderson, L. J. Drummond and T. R. Johnston.
For the Diploma in Urban Valuation course conducted by the school of architecture, Dr. E. P. Neale was appointed lecturer in economics. Mr. Vernon Brown was appointed lecturer for a course to be conducted in interior decoration.
