CHARGE DISMISSED.
MOTORIST BEFORE COURT. ALLEGED INTOXICATION. A charge of being intoxicated while iu charge of a motor car. brought agniust Richard Tvley, of Robertson Road, Mangere, yesterday afternoon, at the Police Court, Onehmiga, was dismisse<l by Mr. F. H. Levicn, S.M. In giving judgment, the Magistrate said that although the aoeufted was travelling at a fast speed and should have given way to the other motor car, it would appear that intoxication, if any, was very slight. Sergt. S. A. Brown said Tyley was arrested on Saturday afternoon after his motor car had collided with another Mr At the comer of Princes and Selwyn Streets, Onehunga, Evidence in support of the charge was given by Mrs. D. Morant, the driver of the other vehicle, her husband, who was with her, and Constables Belton and Watte. A written statement was produced from Dr. W. Howard Thomas, who said that he could not certify that Tyley was intoxicated when he examined him 45 minutes after his arrest.
