Senator Mcßride, will fly to New Zealand within a few days with the New Zealand Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, says the "Sydney Morning Herald" Melbourne correspondent. Senator Mcßride will represent the Australian Government at the Centennial celebrations. He will have no defined mission from the' Commonwealth Government, but will take the opportunity to discuss with the New Zealand Cabinet de.fenee and commercial problems. The New Zealand Government invited the Commonwealth Prime Minister, Mr. R. (i. Menzie«. and suggested two tentative dates for him visit, but he was unable fro accept liecanse of pressure of business. The Sydney "Daily Telegraph"*" Melbourne correspondent says Mr. Afencies may fly to New Zealand this year on n short goodwill visit. He i« anxious that relations between New Zealand and Australia should be fostered. Tt has be.cn suggested that there is a mistaken belief in New Zealand that there is a certain aloofness about Australia's attitude toward that country. The Commonwealth will try to remove this feeling wherever it exists. On the highest authority it is learned that Mr. Menzies is contemplating a visit to' New Zealand. It i« not yet •decided whether or not h« will go by flying boat.
