ORELIO'S BEST SIX.
MAXAM AND PENZANCE.
TRIALS AT TAKANINI.
Orelio, Maxam, Penzance, Sunola and Namara were among those to record the be«t gallops at Takanini this morning when the inside grass track, on which the poles were 20ft out, was in use and provided excellent going.
Princess \al (T. Green) was juat in front of J liver (Coleman) at the finish of six furlongs in 1.17, after running the first three in 375. Pacifist (Kingi) ran three furlongs in 39.9. Xainara (Cleaver), with the assistance of Paddy the Kip (Logan) over the last seven furlongs, completed a mile in 1.46, after running the first five furlongs in 1.4. Namara worked well. Proud Fox (Beguley) and Sunola-(Smith) were also sent a mile, Sunola finishing half a length in front in 1.45 3-5, the last 6ix furlongs taking 1.16 3-5. Sunola worked very well. Glen (Pell) was eased up over the last furlong to record 1.16 4-5 for six. Wong Fu (Green) was two lengths ahead of Stonehaven (McMinn) at the finish of three furlongs in 39 3-ss. High Sea (Smith), Cornish (Beguley) and Vaalso (McMinn) covered six furlongs in 1.14 3-5. Cornish and Vaalso finished a couple of lengths in front of High Sea. Cornish worked attractively.
Orelio (Beguley) was responsible for the best six furlongs of the morning. He ran his first two in 23 3-.)s, and completed '.lie full distance in 1.14, doing his work really well. Hunting Bee (Cleaver) was going better than Surpai (Logan) at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.5 3-5. Ascot Bloom (Cleaver) and Norse Lady (Logan), completed the same distance in the same time, with Ascot Bloom doing the better of the pair at the end. Gold Money Song (Beguley) was just in front of Mysito (Smith) at the finish of five furlongs in 1.3 2-5. Lovaals (Beguley) reeled off half a mile in 51 l-ss, doing Tier work well. Over this distance Maxam (Cleaver) took 50s, and later Penzance (Cleaver) recorded the saime time, which *m not bettered during the morning. Gaymiss (Green) was not asked to do her •best while runing half a mile in 53 3-ss. Palnstre (Walters) worked over a round, running the last five furlongs comfortably in 1.6 3-5. First Gold Money finished four lengths in front of Noisy Night (Pell) at the end of a similar distance in 1.5 Onetea (Thomson) completed half a mile comfortably in 545. Over Hurdles. Da.uber (Burgess) gave an excellent exhibition over four fences, while Inquisitor (Cleaver) completed a similar task well. Tip Toes (Walters) showed dash for a novice over two fences, and Lapidarian (Cleaver) pleased in a bout over six. Riding Engagements.
