Eight survivors have boon landed from the -meat ship Kavnsota (8795 tons),' / which was torpedoed in the Bay of Biscay on December 5, says a Capetown cable. The remaining 40 in the crew are believed to have been drowned, j One survivor described the torpedoing as "mass murder." Tlie Rio do Janeiro correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that 15 German ships in Br<uiliun ports are keeping steam up ready to depart.
