OBITUARY.
ML WILLIAM SAMPSON.
The death has occurred at the age of 64 years of Mr. William Sampson, a wellknown resident of Birkenhead. Mr. Sampson, who oame to Auckland from Australia 40 years ago, was for 20 years foreman in the warehouse of the Colonial Sugar Company's refinery works at Chelsea. His total service with the company was 38 years, and he retired on superannuation four years ago. During his lifetime Mr. Sampson tojk an active interest in municipal matters a?-d was a member of the Birkenhead Borough Council from 1015 to 1017, and also a prominent member of the Ancient Order of Foresters. Mr. Sampson is survived by his wife and two children, Mr. C. Sampson, of Birkenhead, and Mrs. W. McMahon,, of Mount Bosk ill. There are three grandchildren.
