ANNUAL HANDICAP TESTS.
BROUN BEATS MTHERLAND
Good progress was again made yesterday with the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's annual handicap tournament, most of the events being brought to the final stages. The only events in which the semi-finals have yet to be played are the mixed doubles and the men's A douDlee. The only surprise of the day was the defeat in the morning of O. Litherland by A. S. Bfoun, after a fine display of tennis. Occasional heavy showers d J ove , t f competitors in the tou.nament to shelter on several occasions, but the courts were °n fine playing order despite the ram.
