PERSONAL.
Mr. J. Robertson. M.P. for Masterton, who has been visiting Auckland, will return south by the Limited express this evening. Captain John Walton, of the Church Army, has been selected to accompany the first echelon overseas as chaplain. Mr. J. R. Fow has been appointed by the Government to be a member of the Hamilton Licensing Committee. Commissoiner J. E. F. Vogel has been swarded the Scout Honorary Medal of Merit. Mr. Vogel was organiser of the proposed Centennial Boy Scout Jamboree, which was to have been held at Heretaunga this Christmas. Messrs. W. T. Anderton and A.. S. Richards, M.P.'s for £den and Roskill respectively, will be looking after the interests of the Waitemata electorate in the absence of Captain W. J. Lyon, M.P., with the Special Military Force. Mr. Toyokichi Fukuma haa been appointed Consul-General at Wellington. Mr. Fukuma, who is at present first secretary at the Japanese Legation at Buenos Aires, Argentina, will arrive in about three months' time. Mr. K. Gunji, the present Japanese representative at Wellington, has been appointed Consul-General at Honolulu.
