Record Run By Ranger—Good Day For Regatta.

The ninetepnth annual ocean race from Auckland to Tauranga. of 121 miles, which started at 3 p.m. on, Saturday off the Kins s wharf, was won by Mr. W. Burns' Xgahau. on handicap, with Mr. F. G. Gresham's Xgahula second and Messrs. Terce] Bros.' Banger third. ™ . T1 - gather was tine throughout, the wind being south-west to Cape Colrille and «s Mercury Islands, afterwards fitting lighter and changing to north, allowing spinnakers to i>e carried to the finishing line off The Mount. ? an ? She arrived at the town wharf at 1 p.m. Xgahau and Xgahuia kept together. Restless dropping astern off Mercury Bar at daylight. The breeze held light to SJipper Island, when a northerly set in, freshening towards t'be finish. Result : Xgahau 1. Xgahuia 2. Ranger 3.
