LONDON, December 22.
M. Daladier, speaking in the Chamber of Deputies, said the Magino t Line had been extended from the northern to the Jura frontiers. The whole French Army was pouring concrete and creating second and third positions. British 'planes bombed German wardships and patrolled their seaplane bases during the past 24 hours. It is semi-officially stated in Paris that the German Fleet ha« left Hamburg, half moving to the Baltic Sea and half to the North Sea via the Kiel Canal. The official French communique states there is "nothinj of importance to report." A German High Command commu nique states that "during an air fight between Mrosewch mitts and French fighting 'planes one enemy 'plane was forced down. Our 'planes returned without casualty. Reconnaissance aircraft flew over southern England." The spokesman for the French War Office said the Germans were poised for an attack on the Belgian, Dutch and Luxemburg frontiers, as they were last November. Probably they could be moved within 48 hours of receiving marching order. "The Germans' chances of success now are more remote," added the spokesman. "It is a case of forewarned, forearmed." An official statement issued in Brussels says Belgian fighters and antiaircraft units drove off German aeroplanes at various points. Oue German airman opened fire as he fled northward. The Government has protested to Germany.
