PETS AND HOLIDAYS.
1 « would like to heartily endorse "V.E.H.'a" letter about pets at holiday time. Please, you New Zatlaodtn, win •are known for your kindliness, don't neglect your animal friends, during the holidays. Try, if you <*n, to imagine the loneliness, thirst and hunger that your pets may have to suffer during your absence. Pets are deprived of tb» friends who play with them and youngi sters who cuddle them; that k had enough and hard enough for the vm creatures to understand, but thirst and hunger are something terriW© and cruel. The domestic animals in the city are perhaps worst off. There is nothing to hunt, no streams for water. Animal owners should not leave their faithful and trusting pets to their fates. Neighbours and friends will help care for them. Do aek them. E.P.
