CHRISTMAS CAROL. (By Colin de L,uca. 2. Somerset Road, Mount Koskili.) .1 manger was His infant bed, <S'meet hit}/ a pillow for Hi# head; IIif; light, it was the Christmas Star That led the wise men from afar. Mar;/ was a mother blest As He slept upon her breast, There among the clean, street hay, On that the first Chris tma§ day. When the bells at Christmas ring, When flic children carols sing, Let your heart be happy then; Peace on earth, goodwill to men! THERE CAME THREE KINGS Three kings came down to Bethlehem, Each in his robe and crown, The tinkle of the aamel bells Made music through the town. "Where is ITc?" they asked of all, The fading light grew dim, 'For we h&ve seen the star and ice Arc come to watship Him!" Three kings came doicn to Rcthlehem, To seek the infant Lord, They cast their gifts beneath His feet, They fell down and adored. The louly stall, the kneeling crowd, Were V'rapped in silence deep. The little Christ Child laughed at them, And yawned, and went to sleep!

PATRICIAS IDEA. i If I woke up and saw Santa Claus I'd. ask him where he comes from. I'vfrj always wanted to know. No one seems] to be able to tell me, not even my Mummy or Daddy. "Where dc you come from, Father Christmas!" I'd ask him, "and who makes all your toys? Mummy says it's the fairies, but I don't think fairies, are big enough to make bikes and prams and motor cars. Do the giants make them, perhaps? I am sure that there are good giants. How do you squeeze down the chimney, Father Christmas? You do not get hurt, and you do not get any dust or foot 011 you at all." I'd keep 011 asking and asking himi where he»came from . . . and I think he'd tell me in the end. —By Patricia Healey (aged g).
