CHRISTMAS PARTY. To the merry Bound of "Jingle Bells," Santa Claus m<tde his appearance before about seventy children and their parent* and friends at the Christmas party of the Yorkshire Society. He distributed gift* to each child from a huge Christmas tree. Another bright feature of the evening* programme was the clever tap dancing of a party of Miss W. Katterns' young pupils. Supper wu served by the ladies of the committee, after which « sketch entitled "Somewhere in France" was enacted by Messrs. E. Myers, T. Saville-Shaw, and W. A. Ward, jun. ■ At the close of the evening Mrs. H. G. Stale}-, the wife of the president, and Mrs. F. Varian, the society'# treasurer, were presented with bouquets, after which the guest of honour for the evening, Mr. F. Broad, president of the Englfeh Counties' Association, wished everyone a Happy Christmas and the#, | Compliments of the season.
