CYCLIST KILLED.

COLLISION AT CORNER.

MAORI MOTORIST CHARGED.

A motor cyclist was killed and a pillion rider on the same machine seriously injured when the cycle was involved in a collision with a motor car at the corner of Captain Springs Road and Neilson Street, Onehunga, about ten o'clock last night. The cyclist killed was Mr. George William Duncan, aged 20, of 264, Queen Street, Onehunga. The pillion rider, Michael Walsh, aged 13, of 137, Church Street, Onehunga, suffered concussion and a fractured right ankle. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance. His condition to-day was still serious. As a sequel to the accident, a Maori appeared in the Onehunga Police Court before Messrs. F. C. Soar and J. Laking, J.P.'s, this morning charged with being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car. A remand till Friday was granted, bail of £100 being allowed.
