AIRCRAFT FACTORY DEVELOPS
(By Telegraph.—iPrees Association.)
WELLINGTON, this day.
The De Havilland Aircraft Company's factory is in production. The first of the hundred 'planes ordered by the % Government for use as light trainers are out of the cases and away. The Empire Airways scheme has grown since the order was placed and under it New Zealand airmen will receive advanced training in Canada, but there is still a need for a large number of trainers in New Zealand, and it is more likely to be enlarged than reduced. The first month's output is straight assembly, but as subsequent shipments come to hand more and more" of the contents of the cases will be semimanufactured and, later, raw material. De Havillands decided on a factory a year ago for commercial 'planes, but the war speeded matters *jp. The 'planes are the latest of D.H. light model biplanes, "itted with full-range instruments for all initial training and for navigational instruction and blind flying.
