SEVEN ARRESTS.
GERMAN NATIONALS.
RESIDENTS OF AUCKLAND.
MINISTER ISSUES WARRANTS.
On warrants received in Auckland late yesterday afternoon from the Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, to arrest them under the Alien Control Emergency Regulations, seven German nationals living in Auckland were taken into custody last evening by detectives, who searched their homes. After remaining in the detective office for some time, the men were handed over to the military authorities. They spent the night at the Papakura military camp, and as soon as arrangements can be made with the railway department they will be taken to Wellington to be interned on Somes Island. Six of the men arrested are married. The arrests were carried out quietly and without incident. Each man was brought to the detective office by police car, and on being taken to Papakura they were all placed under guard.
