The inauguration in the New Year of the trans-Tasman air mail service may resnlt from discussions yesterday between the Federal Government and Mr. Peter Fraser, deputy-Prime Minister of Xcw Zealand. The final attitude of the Australian Government to the proposal will he communicated to Mr. Fraser before he leaves Sydney for New Zealand. It is believed that New Zealand has special interest in the inauguration of the service as soon as possible, but that the Hritish and Australian Governments are hesitant about commencing such a service in time of war.
