GLORIOUS MEMORIES.

'Arrival Of Canadian Forces

In Britain.

NAZIS DELAY AIR RAIDS.

(Received 10 a.m.)

LONDON, December 20.

Sir Samuel Hoare, Lord Privy Seal, in an Empire broadcast referring to the glbrious memories awakened by the arrival of Canadian troops, said: "The Canadians sail east and the New Zealanders sail west. The Canadians come to the battle, New Zealandera have been through a battle. Britain' wants peace, but not a peace which means progressive enslavement.

"It is queer that the expected air attacks have not come, but that has suited us very well. Every day the air attack is postponed we are the better able to meet and beat it."
