WOMAN ROUTS MEN.
IRISH FARM RAIDED.
MOB CRAWLS TO SAFETY.
SZjIfDING MILK TO DUBLIN".
(Special.—By Air Mail.)
DUBLIN, December 2,
One woman arme l with a shotgun this week sent 46 men—brandishing cudgels and crowbars—crawling away on their hands and knees when they attempted to raid her farm at Kilbrew, Curraha, Co. Meath, Eire. Widow Mulcahyis a little woman, but she's a crack shot. The men had forgotten her skill with the gun until a shot went whistling about their heads.
Mrs. Mulcahy's daughter said: "I am sure mother's reputation with a rifle decided it. Mother once scored nine bulls out of 10 shots. I think some of the men must have heard of her." "They came swarming up the lane towards the gates," Mrs. Mulcahy said. "I connected their visit with the farmers' strike to prevent food froili reaching Dublin until producers ire given a better price for milk. I have n> sympathy with that, and had about 30 gallons of milk ready to send to Dublin. "No one was going to spill milk on my farm, so I ran for my single-ibarrel shotgun and lired a shot over the gate. The men withdrew a little, but came back again, and I fired again. This frightened them and they talked among themselves. I heard one say, 'Let's charge her, boys,' but befbre they had time to do anything I climbed up on the hay and fired a third shot over their heads. j "They immediately dropped on their hands and knees and crawled awav under cover of the wall."
