Wellington made a good second-spell recovery to-day to draw with Taranaki, 18-all. There was an attendance of nearly lo,noo at Athletic Park. L. and <\ Sullivan were next to cross the line, and when Johns converted the letter's the half-time tallies were: Taranaki 1." Wellington :» Wellington attacked strongly ami Thomas kicked a penalty goal after a brilliant move. N\ ales scored under the bar. hut the kirk missed. Wellington increased their tally when Wright scored after Thomas and Veitch had handled. Taranaki 15, Wellington 12. Thomas landed an easy penalty gaol to even the score. Wellington were getting more of the hall this spell, and started numerous moves. Half-way through the spell Taranaki visked the Wellington twenty-five for the first time, when Sherratt fielded 'the ball brilliantly and ran the length of the field to score for Wellington, giving them the lead.
