Butiiueas was again brisk on the Clirktchurc'i Stock Exchange this morning, with a further rise in Woolworths (Sydney) ordinary shares and general appreciation in most securities. The rise in Woolworths continued yesterday's, movement and sales at 26/0 represented a gain of 1/, more buyers still offering at that figure and sellers asking 26/11. Chief among the other price alterations was a recovery of Bank of New Zealands to 39/7, later buyers bidding only Id less. Nationals of New Zealands also looked firmer, but buyers at 47. 3 could attract sellers no lower than 48/11. Yesterday's active business in South British Insurance was followed by reported dealings in 50 shares to-day at the unchanged price of 43/, on 'Change quotations lying from 43/ to 44/. New Zealand industrials showed appreciation in some instances. New Zealand Breweries, for example, improved to a very close market with buyers at 37/6 and sellers Id away. Dominion Fertiliser were I close to 25/ and New Zealand Drugs had buyers at 68/6, without selling response. The Australian group followed the upward trend of overseas exchanges. Electrolytic Zincs improved, the ordinaries selling at 55/6 and the preferences at 58/6, closing with buying offers at 55/6 and 58'4 respectively. A.C.1., British Tobaccos and Broken Hill Proprietary were firm, but G. J. Coles had buyers back to 78/6 against sellers at the last sale price of 80/. SALES RECORDED.
