AFTERNOON PARTY.
EX-OFFICERS AND COUNCIL.
The rooms were gay with bowls of berries, daffodils and Iceland poppies and large stands of flowering shrubs on the occasion of a party tendered by the president and council of the Catholic Women's League ito the former officers and councillors of the league. The president, Mrs. M. Pilling, welcomed the guests and spoke feelingly of those who had died since the inauguration of the league. These included Mrs. Hansen, Mrs. Scruby, Mrs. F. Kelly, Mrs. C. Drysdale and Mrs. T. Buxton.
The regretted absence of the first president, Mrs. J. J. O'Brien, and other vabied ex-officers and members was referred to and message* of good wishes from and to them expressed. The pleasure of all the council in welcoming "those who had assisted to build up the league since its formation was appreciatively spoken of by the president.
The hostesses included Mrs. D. P. O'Leary, Mrs. C. P. Stitchbury, Mrs. J. B. Callan, Mre. N. Main, Mrs. K. Garland, Mrs. E. McGinn, Miss A, Bryant, Miss M. Ormond, Miss V. A. Walsh, Miss L. Drysdale, Miss A. Wright and Miss C. Cremen.
Among the guests were Mrs. D. Tole, P. Delany, Mrs, K. Keating, Mrs. T. J. Nevin, Mrs. M. Hackett, Mrs. W. Kemble, Mrs. A. O'Donoghue, Mrs. H. Maguire, Miss A. Fitzpatrick, Miss A. Mulvany, Miss E. Browne and Miss A. Fouhy.
