AMBULANCES BUSY.

The ambulances from the St. John Ambulance Association were busy today, some long runs being undertaken. One ambulance was sent to Morrinsville, and was later to proceed to Whakatane in charge of Mr. P. Hatton, where an effort is being made to raise sufficient funds for the purchase of a St. John ambulance for use in the local branch. Owing to the fact that an ambulance could not be spared from the Auckland fleet, for the removal of * patient from the Auckland Hospital to Kawhia, on what was not an emergency case, arrangements were made for an ambulance from Hamilton to effect the transfer.
