.Mount Eden.—Thp Mount Eden branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union held its August meeting in the Presbyterian Sunday School Hall. Mrs. Pirritt, of Christchurch, spoke on her work for tlie Department of Antigambling.

Avondale.—Miss L. M. Read gave a talk on her trip to Honolulu at the August meeting of the Avondale branch °f the Women s Christian Temperance Union. Items were given by Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Young.

Auckland.—Mrs. Hugh Kasper presided at a "School of Methods" meeting held recently. Discussions were held on the compilation of the history of the W.C.T.U. for the Centennial year. The monthly meeting of tlie Auckland Union was held recently with Mrs. Stimpson presiding. A talk 011 Honolulu was given by Miss L. Read.

Onehunga.—The annual Pay Up social of the Onehunga branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held recently. Vocal solos were given bv Mrs. Barton and Mrs. Bissett and an address of missionary work in Abyssinia was given by Mrs. Barton. The social was aranged by the treasurer, Mrs. Fordyce.
