MOUNTAIN TIMBER: —Kauri and clinker beech timber cut at a high altitude on the ranges West of Katikati twenty-five years ago is still there. Efforts are now being made to get it to a mill at Katikati. The plan includes haulage and floatage down mountain streams, which are marked by cataracts and waterfalls. The picture on left shows one of the many waterfalls, and, on right, some of the timber that was cut a quarter of a century ago. (See story below.)
