BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
OFFICERS AT HAMILTON,

HAMILTON, Friday.
In expressing the opinion that the time had arrived for the vesting of the work of the beautifying society in the Hamilton Borough Council, Mr. H. M. Hammond, chairman of the works committee, said the time was also approaching when a larger council would be required to handle the additional work. He hoped that the present members of the society would co-operate with the council when amalgamation was effected.

The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. W. H. Paul; vicepresidents, Dr. H. Douglas and Mr. W. G. Pountney; committee, Messrs. J. R. Fow, H. M. Hammond, F. W. Hare, 11. Mercer, E. V. Quick, G. Morpeth, T. G. Reynolds, J. F. Strang, J. H. Edgecumbe, Dr. H. E. Harris; hon. secretary, Mr. T. A. Ewan; hon. treasurer, Mr. E. V. Quick.
