Organised Settlement Plan For Australia. COMMUNITIES OF REFUGEES. (Received 0..10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. On arrival by the Mariposa from a tour abroad. Mr. Paul A. Cohen founder of the Jewish Welfare Society for Refugees, said that he had arranged for large sums of money which would bo applied to land settlement for refugees. The money was being provided by Jewish communities in America and Britain.
He hoped to settle refugees on 100 small farms in Australia. " Mr. Cohen added that he visited Palestine, where Jews of any age and any profession had readily adapted themselves to the land. The majority were bound to make a success in their new-found occupations. Training centres would h e established in various parts of Australia in anticipation of well-organised .Jewish colonisation.
