MANY CHARGES ADMITTED.
CREDIT OBTAINED BY FRAUD.
t (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday. A married man, Allan Keith Ludbrook, (26), of Ruatoria, admitted in the Magistrate's Court 24 charges, involving obtaining credit by fraud and the issuing of money drafts when there were no funds to meet them, and a further charge of signing a false name to a telegram. The amount involved was £105.
Counsel for accused, pleading for probation, said Ludbrook had had his way made too easy for him in his youth and now had been pulled up with a jolt.
On the telegram charge he was convicted and discharged. On one of the other charges he was sent to gaol for three and on the remainder of the charges he was admitted to probation for two and a half years on condition that restitution was made at the rate of not less than £1 a week.
